One more…

…at least for now. Nicotine enjoyed our last impromptu session of bodyscape shots and hinted at wanting to toy around with them some more. Needless to say, I was completely thrilled. I think I nailed some definite prizes this time around. These exercises in mood and framing have really been helping my awareness of the more minute details of composition.

So…while I realize that I’m sure everyone and their grandmother has explored the ’style’, it’s not so much a matter of getting some I can shuffle into that category of my art, but being able to take the instructive elements from shooting these to incorporate into my overall workstyle. And it helps having magnificent models willing to aid you along the way.

Thanks to the visit of another model/friend, Jess, I had the chance to play with a few more bodyscape shots. The more I get to play with this style, the more I wonder why I haven’t dedicated more time to it before (aside from the fact that it involves a greater photographer/model level of comfort than other sorts of shoots, I suppose).

I’ve always been a fan of “less is more” imagery, yet have often found myself consumed by the numerous minor peripherals of a shot. With bodyscape, I feel like I can finally get myself into that quiet aesthetic mentality as I’m shooting. It’s been quite pleasant

I’d wanted to devote my efforts to this style for quite some time, but always seemingly found myself otherwise distracted. It was really on a whim that Nicotine and I decided we’d like playing around with it and I’m quite happy with the results. Perhaps this will be motivational in getting me more focused on it in the future.
