Looking glass

Tentative plans already in the works seem to suggest this will be quite a fun year photographically. These are a few of the overdue goodies from the night that began the chronological process, on New Year’s.

I rarely get sick, but some recent flu-bug-thingie floating around caught a decent grab of me the last few days. After tons of hours in bed, pints and pints of juice, and a roller-coaster of symptoms I’m now in the final stages as my immune system starts booting the last intolerables. But, surely, two new additions to the AutoErotica project (courtesy of Ashley M. and Freshie, in her requested-sequel performance) are an ideal way to get things back rolling normally again, no?

Happy New Year

It was perhaps the most eventful New Year’s I’ve had in a long, long time. And the imagery wrought was just one dimension of it. Fantastict fun.

So, while I’m in the process of editing a healthy mass of newly shot images, I’ll begin by adding two new notches to the Tummy Project: Ashley Mooney and Freshie.

Normally I’m a bit lazier and don’t pick up the camera for spontaneous shooting (something I should probably remedy), but the little ones seemed awfully nifty that day, weathering their first light/medium snowfall and snagging snacks where they could grab them.

Shooting couples always seems to end up well. The fact that it was Tori & Talon only made for even more cuteness. And, as the cherry on top, I threw Tori into this soft, fuzzy, pink hoodie and got some awfully pretty headshots. Happy day.

…when I’m looking over an entire folder of images I’ve shot for an AE set, I get the feeling like I may not have chosen the right pictures. Or that I could use more cells in the collage. Or that I should make secondary collages. Or… *sigh*

(There’s another blog that’s due to be written in the queue before I even write this, but it just came to me upon poking through the images and editing this shot…)

Yesterday was the first snowfall since I’ve moved here. It was a feathering so light that nothing even came close to sticking, but it had the feeling of the city itself eskimo-kissing me as the greeting winter approaches and as things settle in comfortably. While there could conceivably be some passive ‘waiting for the other shoe to drop’ thoughts, since I’ve had an unbroken string of meeting fantastic people since moving here, my view on it isn’t necessarily that riddled with idealism. It’s just a very, very pleasant set of fortunate events thus far.

Two completely different sources yielded one day of my first two official Nashville models.

Ashley is actually a co-worker. Now, while certain model-body-types aren’t what I normally shoot, a 6 foot 2, attractive, slender and sweet chickie is kinda hard to ignore. And, since she wanted to actually dip her toes into the whole modeling thing, I offered to help. She’s got some fantasticness waiting to blossom.

Tori was a incredibly fortunate find on MM since an intentionally quiet reactivation of my account. The soft echoes of a young Linda Evangelista and splashes of Milla Jovovich and Audrey Hepburn peek through in her face. It’s a rather happy thing to have a totally sweet and nifty shooting partner who can flash that for my camera.

So, I had the unadulterated fun experience of having them both over, quickly making friends with each other and breaking my new place in during my first official shoot since moving here. Quite pleased, I am.

They shall all be mine! (cue clever mastermind cackling)

Anyone who knows me is likely already aware of my affinity for tummies. It was really only a matter of time before I concocted some idea for how to properly give them tribute in a series dedicated specifically to them. These were actually originally supposed to just be diptychs; then I started getting too much emotion too ignore from the models (oh, the hardship!) and realized I would need a couple more cells to allow for their personalities to shine through also.

And so, it begins!

I don’t think I’ve ever come across a shot I took where the logo-stamp was overtly obtrusive no matter where I situated it and no matter how low the opacity was set.

Regardless, it’s nice finding pretty things when looking back over sets shot a while back (which perhaps is a passive reminder to continue the ‘History’ gallery).

At least that’s kind of how the shoot with Nori felt when we connected at the DC Fetish Ball last month after a tentative shoot that had basically been in limbo for 2 years. Despite having the basement stairway of the venue as the only available place to shoot (well, there were probably other options, but this is the only one that readily appealed to me) it was nice to have that culmination on one of my last nights in the DC area.
